Leveling Guide for Season 4

Looking for some tips on how to tackle Season 4?

Diablo 4 Season 4 Leveling Guide

Here’s our Diablo 4 Season 4 Leveling Guide where we give you tips on how to level fast and what to do as you progress.

Starting Diablo 4 Season 4

Season 4 is no different from previous Seasons when starting a new character so the first thing to do is start on World Tier 2 and skip the campaign if it’s not your first time playing.

If you’re not new, then claim your Renown as soon as you get in. The next thing to do is the Seasonal questline. The Seasonal questline has you taking part in short quests and running Helltides for Iron Wolf Honor (reputation). You can find the questline start point just northeast of the Kyovoshad Waypoint.

Get XP Faster

Helltides look are a really solid source of XP for leveling in Season 4 with all the new itemization changes. Now with even monster density and added dangers, players should try and do as much as possible in the Helltides including Events. On top of that, Helltides are now available to lower-level characters thanks to their addition in World Tier 1 and World Tier 2. You level fast at the start and should hit level 20 in just over an hour if you stick to quests and Helltides.

Undertake as many Legion events that are inside a Helltide as often as you can. These are a great way to take advantage of having other players around you to help with leveling without having to team up. Of course, if you can team-up with other players while leveling then do it.

Open chests in the Helltides and gather Whispers of the Dead for extra XP and gold if they are in the active Helltide zone. Chests have always been a good source of XP so aim to get as many, if not all, of those done as you can in the Helltides.

Power Up

While Helltides are a great source of XP, don’t forget about the Codex of Power and seeking the Aspects you are looking for from Dungeons when you’re thinking about your mid to late-game build. Also, if you find a great build, then share it with the community via PureDiablo Builds section.

Try to get your class specialization as early as possible, possibly around level 20 if you think the time is right. Druids may need to level up a bit to tackle theirs as it’s in a Stronghold, Tur Dulra (Map).

Always have an Elixir and Incense active as often as possible.  You can get a boost of 5% to Experience earned with an Incense and up to 8% with an Elixir and you can stack 1 of each at the same time. Also note that the new Elixir of Holy Bolts had proved a winner as demonstrated by Rob who hit 100 in around 7 hours with the help of the elixir.

Heading to Higher World Tiers

Advancing to World Tier 3 should be around the early level 40s and that’s when you should tackle the Capstone Dungeon inside the Cathedral of Light in Kyovoshad.

By this point, you should be thinking about your playstyle, build, and gear for these higher World Tiers and it’s a great time to upgrade gear with the new Tempering system and sort out resistances with gems at the Jeweler.

World Tier 3

It’s back to leveling and again and once again the Helltides are a great source of XP. Nightmare Dungeons are also worth tackling which means undertaking Whispers of the Dead and going back and forth to the Tree of Whispers to get the Nightmare Dungeon Sigils. Take on the harder Elites and race through these Nightmare Dungeons quickly.

Keep on leveling to 60 and tweaking gear between 40 and 60.

World Tier 4

Season 4 will be no different from the previous Season in that when you hit level 60, you need to think about moving up to World Tier 4.

Before tackling the Capstone Dungeon for WT4, head to the Blacksmith and Temper Gear again. Get your resistances up as far as possible with gems and gear because the resistance penalty is higher.

From level 60 up to 100 it’s now a matter of rerunning Helltides and undertaking increasingly difficult Nightmare Dungeons. The main difference from leveling in World Tier 3 is the World Bosses are now worth a run when they appear.

As you continue up to 100, keep upgrading gear through Tempering and changing Aspects as your build evolves. Again, make sure Gems are the best they can be and look out for those new Greater Affixes on items when they drop.

Stygian Stone

Level 100 – Ding!

The main new addition in Season 4 at the endgame is The Pit. To access this, players need to have beaten a Nightmare Dungeon Tier 46. This will be the source of Stygian Stones used for summoning Tormented Echoes (Uber Bosses), now the highest-level bosses in the game, and the source of better gear. These Tormented bosses are level 200 so be ready for a fight.

Diablo 4 Season 4 Leveling Guide Conclusion

The leveling process is quite similar to previous Seasons but it’s faster and there’s more to discover along the way with the new itemization. Now with tougher Boss options and The Pit, there’s more to do in the endgame.
