Main goal was to play through all difficulties, using zeal as "main" attack, but assigning no hard points, hence the name "Sans-Zele". 'King's Grace' got me all the way to Hell difficulty, where I almost forgot to switch to 'Passion'.

I wanted to build a Tesladin with FoH as ranged back-up skill. Holy Shock synergizes FoH anyway. Alas, you can't get to FoH without putting hard point in Zeal. So, went with Blessed Hammer instead. I'm glad I did. There were a lot of ranged LI monsters that would have been even more trouble than they were. Other than those ranged LIs, didn't have too much difficulty. BH and Zeal+Holy Shock were both very viable. Merc did have some survival issuses wearing my +STR Gris. Once he had the strength for 'Fortitude' it was clear sailing.

This poor guy sat on the shelf for about a year, but finally he made it. I wanted to play with skeletons for safety, but be able to get in there with melee as well. Played to A1 hell with a 'Passion' Knout (I believe). Killing speed was getting slow, and I wanted to wait for a 'Faith' bow to boost my skellies (but never made one in time). With the weapon reshuffle he got stuck with a 'Passion' Shillelagh, so added a beta 'Delirium' for some extra safety.

Bone armor + Confuse from 'Delirium' worked well. Was able to rush into packs, and absorb hits until confuse was cast. Tried playing straight up melee, but battles took forever. He would have to repair after every single skirmish. So, he ended up going with corpse explosion as well. Act bosses, with no confuse or CE were especially difficult for this poor guy. Ended up using a lot more of Berserk. Zeal was just there to get confuse to proc, and had to basically deal with PIs on my own.

Originally had planned to play as Zeal Druid, combining monster flee and confuse from 'Delirium'. I imagined monsters running around in circles, all the while getting sliced up by hurricane. However, I'd never played a windy Druid before. Once I saw how powerful Tornado was, zeal was left by the wayside. I also realized crowd control from 'Delirium' wouldn't be necessary, so went with a 1.07 pelt.

Looking back, my original plan of scattering monsters may have been more suited to Volcano/Armageddon. He was very successful in terms of viability. But, failed by making very little use of 'Passion'. Tornado did simply too much damage. Mainly used Berserk as PI solution. Which did come in handy as there were plenty of CI/PIs. Didn't have any troubles at all until A5 hell, where he came across several areas with Gloams + Mummies.

Yay! First completed Pat/Mat for me on the new site! :)

Just a quick run-through with her, since this is the second iteration of Angelic. First time through, she was a MeteOrb, but I didn't feel like that didn't fit the set very well. Went with Enchant this time to make use of the AR boost from the set. Since the set leaves the Shield/Boots/Belt slots open, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to use the Hsarus' set as well (#2/7 towards that goal). I was also hoping to knock her out over a 2.5 day period to chock her up as a Weekend Warrior, and kill 3 birds with one Mat. However, she ground to a halt on Hell difficulty, and it took me about 3.5 days to finish.

Racing her through NM, she started Hell under leveled which meant merc could not equip 'Infinity' until later, and she had a lot of difficulty with CIs. Despite her massive defense and chance to block, she wasn't quite as sturdy as you would like for venturing into melee. Anyway, wanted to get this one done to start rounding out the Normal Sets.

Holy Freeze, and Holy Shock because wep doesn't do any damage. Rogue merc with 'Harmony' RW was nice. He started to die quite a bit later into Hell difficulty. Stopped at HF.

Played her on p1 through Hell, mostly because I didn't want her to gain levels. But, I'm certain she could have handled much more (especially if I had up'd her boots..). Went with Claws of Thunder variant which I barely used at all until A4-5. Encountering a lot more FIs with higher HP made it a nice alternative to Tiger Strike.

This was one of the best "normal" sets that I've done. It certainly helps that my gear is much better now. But, Iratha's set gives nice resists, and leaves weapon/armor/boots slot open. Worked out perfectly for a kicker!

Patriarch König (lvl 87) - Immortal King WW Barb
This guy is getting a bit more of a write-up than usual. He holds the title of my first ever D2 character. Back in college I made a barbarian named König, but was never able to find the IKSC. That was several restarts ago. This second incarnation has really made up for that unfulfilled potential. I unleashed the power of my 1.07 charms with this guy to turn him into a total monster.

Mana burn and Undead/unleechable were basically the only things that could stop this guy. Hephasto was the most painful, mana burn + Spectral hit. Had to use 4-5 purples for him.. o_O

Everything else that wasn't mana burn was just a matter of time. Painful groups like Infector were nothing more than big meaty, leechable targets for WW.

Very fun and relaxing build. It's been a while since I played a 5/5 character. The +max damage charms took his numbers to another level. The +35 grand alone added over 500 to Berserk's max damage.. Can't wait to use them on some other overpowered builds. :)

On Nightmare, I used a 1.07 MPK ring because I knew Mana burn/Undead would an issue. That worked pretty nicely. I'd gain enough mana from kills to keep WW-ing away. On Hell difficulty however, mana burn stopped WW in it's tracks. This was the only real danger to König. However, he wasn't indestructible. He did take damage, but as long as he kept whirling away, he would leech it right back. Multi-packs, or Extra Strong/whatever were painful as always, and needed the occasional purple.

A1-3 was done on p8 (except for Duriel - p5). A4 I noticed things slowing down. There are a lot of beefy monsters there: Corpulants and Venom Lords etc. Dropped it to p5 until after Diablo. A5 (except for Ancients) was done at p8 again (Baal at p3). I will try to get his +MF% a bit higher, maybe 200-250, and do Baal runs with him to lvl 90 or so. I could still improve his charms a bit (don't have many good Fine/MF charms), maybe a better ring, and IK Stone Crusher could use some much better jewels. But, he is already a veritable wrecking ball. :D

I really thought she would have been more difficult than she was, seeing as how she only had one real attack.. I played through all of Hell on p1. So, I can't really say she merits a higher rating. Possibly deserving of 4/5, but I don't have any plans on testing her further. She only had 1 death that I can recall, which was due to my stubbornness in drinking pots. Everyone knows that you must keep a full belt at all times. So, the only time you're allowed to drink a pot is when you find a replacement on the ground..

I did end up just running through the highlands in A5, where there were a lot of FIs. But, I stopped to check, and only 1x monster type was actually unbreakable. So, FIs almost never meant immune, just meant they would take longer to die from IA.

She was pretty safe and easy. Decided to go with 'Infinity' on Merc, considering she had 2x different elemental attacks. Meditation was only somewhat missed. She generally didn't burn through mana too quickly. And, when she did, it was usually while downing a large boss/pack. Then there were always pots on the ground to refill her belt. It just was a bit tedious to be constantly managing her belt.

I think she only had a single NDE, due to a Stygian doll explosion in Throne Room. Very safe and able build.

This was another fun build. I kinda missed out on her play through though. Raced her to RoF WP to play in the OBP tournament. Then, she only got ~5 levels there before she was at 84. I didn't want her to level past 85, so that was it for her. So, I'm not really sure how she can handle higher player settings throughout Hell, but she did just fine with p8 RoF.

Nice resists, nice +skills, and 30% DR on the set. More skills with Bartuc's, and another 15% DR on String of Ears. She was actually pretty sturdy, despite me not using her defensive skills enough. She will probably be one of the Set builds that I take to 90 in the future.

Again, not a great character to start with. Cruised through NM easily with 'Insight' merc. Added a 'Spirit' Monarch for Hell. Made it to HF, but killing was becoming very slow. Added some skillers and finished him off without too much difficulty though.

This was one of my least favorite sets. Several sets are handicapped with low dmg weps, but Civerb's set/partial bonuses aren't too impressive either. You get a bit of +mana/regen and +250% dmg to undead. But, +250% of zero is still zero..

So, I just ended up going with a Windy build and basically "carried" this set through the game. I still probably could have made him a bit better with 'Enigma' etc. The one benefit of the set is that it doesn't occupy too many item slots.

She was FUN to play. Not the most OP build, but FUN. Charges of Attract on 'Delirium' were only used just to test it out. 33% CtC Confuse + Strafe is crazy, and SAFE.

You can basically do whatever you want with monsters being Confused all the time. I used Hellmouth gloves for the CtC effects. I decided to add Wisp Projector for another CtC effect, and for the charges of HoW. Yes, it stayed alive pretty well. Problems with AoE spells (Blizzard, Meteor etc) spirit would just fly right into them. But, it was generally safe from melee.
Immo Arrow worked VERY well. Confuse kept monsters stationary, fighting among each other, allowing Immo to do it's work. It was also very effective against Ancients/Act Bosses, as they tended not to let me stand still and Strafe.

Pretty happy with how Soeki worked out even though DS kinda overtook the build..

Charges of Slow Missile were very nice for A2 skeleton archers, and again in A5. 'Sanctuary' would be a great shield to keep on switch for anybody not using +skills prebuffing. Plague Javelin worked very nicely. Took down monsters very quickly. Downside is that only monster hit by javelin get Venom applied. DS was simply too overpowered though. Probably +95% of kills came from DS. PJ helped on Lite immunes, but once you get first corpse, DS took care of the rest. May be worth a revisit with non-Assassin. I'm thinking about pairing charges of PJ with CtC Venom from 'Treachery' or 'Dragon'.

Well, for a /melee character that did less than 1k damage, he was quite alright. 50% Summoner, 50% Caster, and 50% melee adds up to 150%!!

CE charges were very nice. Repair cost on Corpsemourn is very low. And, as long as you use the charges somewhat sparingly, 40 is plenty to last until your next trip back to town. The Spirit Wolves survived pretty well, 514 base HP before I cast BO. They died occasionally, and 2-3 times late into Hell difficulty I came across something painful that would drop 3-4 of them. I can't remember ever losing the entire wolf pack at once. Generally, they only needed to survive until 1-2 corpses were made. Then the enemies thinned out considerably. Third charge item was Marrowalk for the charges of Life Tap. Kind of like CoS, didn't use very often. But, when they were used, they were VERY useful.
