Act Two, Desert Wilderness. This was a landmark shot for a couple of reasons. One, it was the first multi-player screen shot of Diablo II to hit the internet. Less important, it was the first shot to show the Sorceress in any sort of armor, and the first to show a frozen monster. Namely the blue Blunderbore to the bottom left. At the time there was some debate as to whether the Sorceress froze the creature with some spell, or if the amazon froze it with one of hers. We now know that both characters have skills that could freeze this monster, but as it looks like the Sorceress is busy with Firewall, having just cast the one behind her, and the Amazon is targeting the Blunderbore right now, so odds are she used Ice or Freezing Arrow on it. There was a lot of debate about the axe-shaped shadow just behind the Amazon, but in recent shots and movies we've seen a lot of Dung Warriors die, and their front claws look very much like the shadow up there. So apparently the Amazon just popped it, and the exploding death animation hurled the leg up into the air, and it's not come down yet, hence the shadow. -- 3dfx enhanced shot, 10/98.
